You know, I don't know if my glasses are dirty or there's glare on this shot, but... if it looks 'glare-y' to you, then it's NOT my glasses! I didn't post yesterday because I spent all day painting a bigger (30x30) still life. Still lots to do on it, but soon I'll post it on my studio blog.
Hey Kelley,
ReplyDeleteI'm on my laptop right now and I can't see the glare!
I love these red glasses your doing! Love the color!!
Thanks for stopping by my blog - it helped me find yours! I love your paintings - they are amazing - especially the still life ones. Will visit again.
ReplyDeleteHi Kelley...thanks for stopping by my blog. Nice to meet another still life/dog painter!
ReplyDeleteLove your work...it has a very beautiful, luminous quality to it.
I'll be back!
Thank you Manon - I think I'll snap a clearer one maybe today or tomorrow and replace it, though! Hey, everybody, check out Bindu's work!
ReplyDeleteTo me it's a little glary and not as crisp as the other one but still a beauty. I tried something once in red and couldn't photograph it good at all. It's like taking photos of red flowers, kind of hard IMO. I hope you do more red glasses.
ReplyDeletePart of the difference in the two 'red glass' paintings is the surface, "Swizzle" was done on Gesso board, smooth, but absorbent surface. "limey" was done on a Utrecht canvas board, which is slicker, with a canvas top. The paint doesn't sink in as much (more glare). I like Gessoboard better to paint on, but my local Utrecht is usually out of the 6x6, 6x8 sizes!
ReplyDeleteLooks refreshing! I don't see the glare either.
