Orange You Good For Me, 6x6 Acrylic

This was the most luscious orange!  When I sliced it for breakfast I knew I had to paint it.  Things are hopping these days, getting ready for all the early Summer shows.  It doesn't help that it coincides with a Nor'easter-like urge to start new paintings - I should be simply wrapping up, framing, photographing and submitting this time of year.  Instead I'm stocking up on canvases, sketching out and making notes for new paintings, techniques I want to try... etc.  I'm hopeless.

  1. You're not hopeless, you're awesome. Getting things ready etc.. God for you and nice oranges.

  2. I like this painting; I like the orange against the blue and the shapes and their arrangement. And hey, who wouldn't rather paint and sketch than organize stuff for ANY reason!!!! Mary's right, you're not're an artist!

  3. thanks so much for the positive comment-I have just started this blogging myself and love the exchange between artists all over our country! Your oranges simply glow-just seeing work like yours and Mary Winn's encourages me to step up my color--thanks

  4. I just wanted to tell you my show went beautifully! Thanks so much for the words of encouragement!

  5. mine was called 'orange you glad' but either way you slice it, oranges look GREAT when painted. I love this one!!

  6. very clever how you managed to let the light shine thru these slices,
they are delightfull, also like very much the birds on the top, they are so full of character!
not to mention the rest of your work, soo happy and bright...but not overdone.

Awww THANKS for leaving a comment! You KNOW I love to hear from you!
