Even though I LOVE snow… I'm kinda grateful that this week we're getting rain.  I know there's more snow in our future, but a reprieve was nice!  I love this little guy, and I could honestly collect snowmen until I was buried in them! 

But I have made a commitment and want to share it with you. I have decided, once again to participate in Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.  Starting January 1.  My subject: Angels.  You know, of course, after a few days I'll be desperate for ideas, so if YOU have any images of angels you think might look good painted, please send them along to me at kcareymac@hotmail.com!  I think it'll be fun. This little guy has my heart.  He's made of frosted *glass* (read: plastic), and I like him so much I keep him in my studio year round. The background is Caribbean Blue... like tonight's sky...  Underneath this painting is the message/wish below:

This little guy is hanging, for sale, at the Providence Art Club.  Don't tell my husband, it's one of his favorites!  If he goes to a new home, all my holiday themed paintings will have sold, and I'll have to start a new group!

I just LOVED painting this... because despite it's simplicity and childish charm, it was a real study in darks and light, highlights, drawing and composition.  Go figure.

Anyway, he's from last December, but is in the Art Club's Holiday show.  Enjoy your day!

I have some teacups I'll be painting, and this first one is a Russian cup & saucer - the challenges being the semi-fluted shape of the ellipse of the lip, the deep indigo of the blue and the gold touches!

Today I had a lot of fun in the studio. Paco was being the BEST studio friend, and things were just 'working' with the paintings, you know? I heard that we may get snow - and although I don't really believe it ( I mean I was wearing no jacket, just a sweater today), I thought I'd celebrate by painting this little guy. He 'walks' when you wind him up. Fun!
