Cup Of Irish Breakfast Tea, 6x6 Inches, Oil

SOLD
I guess painting the Fiesta cup reminded me how much I love tea and teacups! This is a Wedgewood "Nantucket Basket" patten for the cup and saucer.  What did I love most?  Confession time:  while the teacup is a wonderful challenge, with the warp and weave indications, I love painting the TEA!   The reflections, the deep colors, and let's be honest, teabags are so cool to paint!
And I got this cloth when I was like a 'painter gone wild' at the fabric store last month.  A foot tall stack of fabric swatches and about a dozen different colors of buttons.  The checkout lady screwed up her face and said "What ARE you making?"

Demitasse, 6x6 Oil

SOLD
This small cup & saucer was a gift from a good friend who visited and haunted the antique shops with me in Warren. I wanted to incorporate a ribbon, but I don't know if it was that successful. I spent so long looping, twisting, draping this foolish ribbon I probably should have left it out. I loved painting the translucent china (it's Limoges - my first!) and the beautiful flowers on it!

Chocomel, 6x6 Oil on Canvas

When we were visiting Holland, we went to a windmill park called Kinderdijk, a historical site that preserved these huge wooden windmills that drained the marshes. Needless to say it was very windy there, and painting plein air was a challenge! We found a semi-sheltered place at the snack bar patio which had a great view of the whole area, but we had to keep eating/drinking to keep our table, as busloads of tourists kept arriving! I decided to try Chocomel, their version of hot chocolate - YUM! They were not receptive to our purchasing the wonderful yellow cups, and I didn't feel like just taking it, but my NEXT trip to Holland I WILL bring one home!

Starbucks Coffee Break, 6x6, Oil

This new cup and saucer from the ORIGINAL Starbucks in Seattle is a gift. I love the creamy white of the cup and the purply shadows. OK, I love Starbucks coffee, too!
