April In Paris.... 8x10 Acrylic Painting by Kelley MacDonald

SOLD

I've only been to Paris once, and it was really not enough!  My dear husband lured me out for a walk one evening, which ended up being like the Trail Of Tears (for my poor, blistered feet), but his destination was romantic, and so was immediately forgiven.  We were quite a distance from the Eiffel, but it looked close because it's huge - surely dominates the landscape.  By the time we got there it was lit up - my very favorite view of it.  And I think its synchronicity that my friend Leslie Saeta also painted this scene (although daytime) this week.  Check hers out!

Along those lines, this month there will be an opportunity for locals and their friends to get together as I walk them through a Paris painting - Thursday, April 18th, 6-8:30, BYOB, fun supplied, as well as all art supplies.  Pure non-artists welcomed and encouraged!~

Clouds Over Paris, 8x8 Inches, Acrylic

SOLD
Maybe it's because someone I know is in Paris right now, and another blogger 'friend' who blogs about Paris is on her way(fabulous blog, check it out!), or maybe because it's "April In Paris"...  I have a longing to go.  For our 30th Anniversary my husband and I went to Paris and Madrid - a trip of a lifetime, I tell you!  OK, he actually worked most of those days, but it was an unforgettable memory nonetheless.  The art, the food, the way people took such care and pride in what they did... the clothes... well... suffice it to say I'd love to take you ALL!

This was the view if you hung over the scaffolding on our balcony and looked right.  Literally I was risking life and limb for this view... 4 floors up.   Worth it?  I'd say so!  At night, as you probably know, the Eiffel Tower is lit up, but there was no way to put a tripod on the thin air outside the balcony to take a night shot!  The values in this were extremely challenging.  Here's the photo, below .... go ahead - take a shot at it - I'll publish it on the blog if you send it along to me!

If two of these images show up - I apologize ... Blogger told me only one was there, but I see two!

Cluny Abby, Paris, 6x6 Originial Acrylic Painting by Kelley MacDonald

$100 & $10 S&H

A few of my fellow artists from the Daily Painters Originals are taking 'trips' to France - so here's my first contribution!  I loved the Cluny Chapel, and the stories of the Roman Baths in the basement.  Actually, I got a little lightheaded with all the beauty and history, and left my husband to wander inside, while I got some air and enjoyed the pink door and the hollyhocks which matched it!  So, I'd go back to Paris in a MINUTE, and revisit the relics, etc. at this particular church....  See what Kelley Sanford and Julie Hill have served up for their French Feast!
