This month I've chosen to participate in the 30 Paintings In 30 Days Challenge with Leslie Saeta. My topic will be Angels. I don't paint from my imagination much, so it will truly be a challenge for me! Today's Angel is a Guardian, and as a child we recited this prayer. Then and now I find comfort thinking that we are never alone, that we have our Guardian Angel for our whole lives. And maybe even beyond, who knows?
I would like to wish each and every one of you a Happy, Safe and Healthy New Year. Whatever challenges we faced in 2013 are gone, and we can look forward to a fresh start. Thank you for coming along on my artistic journey. Possibly my personal journey as well… I appreciate every comment, and every note. Thank you again, and Happy New Year!
A silly thing to focus on but I couldn't stop looking at the perfect circular shape of her head! You'll do fabulous at this challenge, Kelley. I feel it in my bones.
ReplyDeleteSuch a peaceful painting! Wonderful image to start the new year with. Her face is very angelic and her halo reminds me of the angels that Duccio painted around the Madonna and Child.
ReplyDeleteGreat start, Kelley! Love your subject and I can't wait to see your other angels. I tried to send my guardian angel to pose for you, but she said with my life I really needed her to stay here and watch over me. Who knew?!!
ReplyDeleteGreat theme Kelley! I can't wait to keep checking back on your blog for more angel paintings. Beautiful work! :) Happy New Years to you and good luck with the rest of the challenge!
ReplyDeleteSweet! I cant wait to see all the angels- heavenly!
ReplyDeleteJust looking at your painting makes me feel peaceful. I agree with Crimson leaves her head sure is a perfect circle. Lovely
ReplyDeleteLove the prayer and the concept of painting angels. This will be heavenly to watch unfold! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThis face reminds me of a face from the 1930's. Are you painting someone from your past? I am excited to see your angel series.
ReplyDeleteSo serene! Beautiful wings and neat background!
