This is a commission that I just finished. I love how it came out! I was a little nervous, never having painted these kind of donuts with bites taken out. Well, it's just like everything else - you just have to look at them. And I am very, very fold of painting those styrofoam cups! I have this new color - Ice Blue that really works for the white cup where it's in the light, but not reflecting the direct light. I guess it's true - America Runs On Dunkin!
And I got this hat - I think it says it all...
The painting is wonderful and so is the hat. Did you buy that when we were in Atlanta? I, too, love the Ice blue.
ReplyDeleteYummy, creative and in keeping with your personality. I love the textures of the different doughnuts.
ReplyDeleteKelley this is so much fun and painted so very well. Glad you finally received that Shiva ice blue paint perfect on that "white" cup. Bites out of all the donunts reminiscent of Saturday mornings in Connecticut before the children's soccer games. And loving that hat...will have to see if they are sold at DD here.
ReplyDeleteKelley,
ReplyDeleteThis is the best! Love the triple threat with the bites taken out! Really good job on those. You are killing me with that chocolate frosting on the top one:) Yum!
Love the styrofoam cup- just adds all the right stuff to the composition and the stack can lean on it!
Sweet!!!
Thanks, Jerry! I hope you are well. No, the hat came from Provincetown, MA last Fall!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen, they SHOULD sell those hats at Dunkin Donuts, but I found it in a gift shop!
ReplyDeleteThis is a truly wonderful painting...I think it is the best one so far.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely are the donut master.....Great hat!
ReplyDeleteyou are a master donut painter!
ReplyDeleteSO when are you going to get Dunkin to sponsor you-really! I see a very sweet fortune here...
This actually makes me sad. You see, there is no Dunkin Donuts nearby...
ReplyDeleteI love this painting! That hat is great, too! Awesome work!
Wow you really really nailed these donuts. The colors, everything. Your client should be pleased.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, Kelley! Who was the poor person making the extreme sacrifice of taking the bites out? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI never leave hungry form this site! Lovely convincing texture, Kelley!
ReplyDeleteKelley, I love your painting. It is terrific and I like the hat too !
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was made special just for you
As always, good enough to eat!
ReplyDeletedonut QUEEN!!
ReplyDeleteI see a DD ad campaign in your future :D
No jelly Contessa?
ReplyDeleteDelish' and oozing with frosting! What more can an opponent say? (other than I am in trouble)
Hey, I need a hat too!
You are a MASTER at these and also succeeding in making me very hungry for something sweet!! Naughty you. Congrats.
ReplyDeleteLove these donuts! Fabulous painting and its comes through that this is something that you love to paint! I want one of those hats!!!
ReplyDeleteI'd like the middle donut please...
ReplyDeleteLove it - especially the middle one. I can taste it! Beautiful job. And I love the way you handled your cup. Forget about DD selling the hats - they should be selling your paintings!
ReplyDeleteThis painting is just the best! Can see the sugar dripping from the cake. You paintings always make me hungry. LOVE your hat too!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this! Why do I feel guilty just looking?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, everybody - obviously I had a great time painting this! And .... this is important.... there are *no calories* to be gained by just looking at it! :)
ReplyDeleteYou rule, Donut Queen! Love the cup and you're right that ice blue is perfect.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on these...as usual! I can't even begin to think about how hard it was to paint. You have that "cake" look down to perfection, esp. the chocolate one with the thin glaze! I'm surprised Dunkin Donuts hasn't commissioned you to do posters for their shops. Oh, if ONLY they knew you were including their cups in your paintings!(hint*hint)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the cap!!!!!!!!!
Great painting Kelley! I want to bite into those donuts, the glaze just looks so real! Nice hat too.
ReplyDeleteYou have the most delicious looking donuts!!! I totally adore them!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteBtw....love the hat!! : ))
Kelley, You outdid yourself on this one...wow!
ReplyDeleteHmmm ... I see hats, aprons, and lots of stuff plastered with your new motto, "Life is short, Eat the damn donut!".
ReplyDeleteLove your painting ...
