This is my entry for Carol Marine's new Daily Paintworks Challenge. I've only painted a car a couple of times before and I find them so difficult! My very first painting workshop was with the late, great, Charles Sovek, and when I told him I was not fond of painting boats he said "Then you should paint cars - a LOT of cars!" Very funny. But he was, of course, right. There are some very, very fine submissions to this Challenge, which was only posted a couple of days ago. It will be very exciting!

Also, my very own, Boston-based Challenge group has posted our monthly response to the topic of... WINTER. You can imagine we had a lot of reference materials.... check it out! Below, my submission for that!
Good for you for accepting the challenge of painting something that is hard to do!
ReplyDeleteI love your Winter challenge painting...beautiful cold shadows with a warm light on the snow. Looks like either early morning or late afternoon. The light may be warm, but it definitely is a cold winter day. Well done.
I love your version of the car challenge, Kelley! Your winter scene is also great.
ReplyDeleteAs hard as I try I just can't make it look like a car! You did a fabulous job! Your perspective is perfect and also your reflections. Well done!
ReplyDeleteLove the shadows on your winter challenge.
You did a fantastic job on this car! Looks difficult! Congrats!!
ReplyDeleteKelley well done. it was a great challenge wasn't it. looking forward to the next. Winter scene looks...well very wintery...so cold.

ReplyDeleteGreat job on the car. Love the brighter blues. I want to get around to this challenge but it may not happen this time. Love your interpretation.
ReplyDeleteOh, oh... cars instead of donuts or cupcakes. Metal is surely a challenge and less fattening Kelley. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteKelley, I think that your motto is,
ReplyDelete"fear no subject"! It certainly shows. This looked like a challenge, and you conquered it! Congratulations,a job well done!
