Sat in my garden and painted these last night. I didn't have any of my small panels or boards, so I used what I could find - a 9x12 canvas. The surface was a bit absorbent for some reason, and the paint went on in a washy, watercolor-like fashion - you can really see it on the bottom two flowers. My irises are very special to me, and I have 3 types, bearded black, bearded ice blue, and these. The black ones have gone by, and the ice blue ones got stomped by the small pug who runs my life.. :) Oh, Paco!!!!
congratulations on being accepted to the daily painter originals. I'm delighted for you and it's very well deserved. I'm delighted for me too. It's the first time that the perdon I voted for ever won the prize. I was begining to think I was a jink! :-)
ReplyDeleteThey are like suspended dancers--lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh, pretty! The subtle color variations of the stems and leaves make them just as pretty as the flowers themselves.
ReplyDeleteI love Irises, you did a great job here. We have not been too successful growing the pretty "rizomes" in our current yard, but admired other's this year.
ReplyDeleteLove it!! It made me smile, because if you look long enough it feels like fat, winged creatures, or bodybuilders coming at you! Sorry, I'm one of those people who love to find shapes in clouds, and trees and things. I love Iris, and this color is wonderful. You caught them!
ReplyDeleteThese are great- I love the irises too- I like the washiness!
