This was the plein air piece that was my favorite from my Marshfield paint out! At this point in the day a few other painting buddies had arrived and we staked out this shed in the backyard of where I was staying - positioning ourselves around it. My favorite part is the buoys hanging on the shed. Or maybe the shadow from the overhang of the roof. It just flowed... bing, bang, boom.
*A note about the DailyPainters.com contest... only one vote per IP address counts, so that's good!
This painting is not a Daily Painting per se, and I am reserving it for a summer art show entry.
I love the clothes hanging on the line! This will make a wonderful addition to a show! Great job!
ReplyDeleteLove the ambience of this piece - can feel the wind blowing the clothes - nice...
ReplyDeletecongrats on the daily painters!
This one is a winner! Way to go.
ReplyDeleteI love your rendition of the shed- you really got the feeling of that day!
ReplyDeleteSome paintings do that. Just paint themselves. I love the laundry.
ReplyDeleteKelley, this is beautifully painted and charming! Nice job.
ReplyDeleteThis is outstanding, along with your beach painting, clearly 2 of my favorites from you!!! I love when an artist can take a very ordinary scene, as in the shed, and turn it into a stellar painting; very well done! Oh, and isn't it nice when the paint just does what it's supposed to do?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun day and you have a wonderful painting too.

ReplyDeleteWhat fun Kelley. You packed a lot into that little painting and kept it spontaneous. I especially like the warm ground color peeking out around the edges.
SLAM DUNK!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda! Sue, we put the laundry there, and it sure worked! Thanks Nanny, Sal, I didn't see yours!
ReplyDeleteCan you paint anything? Love it, I too like the clothes blowing in the wind.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this! And really love that YOU put up the laundry. Sort of an outdoor still life!
ReplyDeleteI like your choice of subject for your plein air. Has a wonderful feeling to it.
ReplyDeleteThis is fun and lovely. Bet it gets snapped right up at the summer art show. What is it about laundry on the line that is so irrestable?
ReplyDeleteThanks for you recent visits and kind comments, it's always so nice to hear from you!
This is so painterly, I can understand what you mean by: it just flowed! The painting appears like that. It will also be easy for anyone to live with on a wall!
ReplyDeleteThis is quite lovely and it tells a great story!
ReplyDeleteLove the feel of this with the clothes blowing in the wind. The shed is charming and the hanging objects are a really nice balance to the clothes. Great job, Kelley!
ReplyDeleteLooks so peaceful, Kelley!
ReplyDeleteWish I was there!
