A couple of weeks ago my Challenge Group met at my studio in Warren, RI. A couple of girls came down early and we hit the antiques stores (we have REAL antiques stores, where you can really find good things!) together. At the Wren and Thistle I found these two ceramic birds - irresistible! So different from painting plein air, and tough to shift gears.
This painting is $100 & $10 S& H via Paypal
I want to share some valuable information with other bloggers, too. Today I found Leslie Saeta's blog and saw that she has a radio program on Thursdays at noon about Artists Helping Artists. She has the links on her blog so if that's a bad time for you it's there when you can listen at your leisure. Thusday's topic is: Sell Your Art While You Sleep! Check it out!
love these birds? What genius found theses? (:
ReplyDeleteThe bright yellow orange is wonderful against the little birds. Very nice composition and placement of the little one looking up at Mom. I've just begun a new challenge blog with a few Texas artists, it officially begins in June and is somewhat similar to your challenge group. Thanks for the inspiration, both with your unique challenges and your beautiful paintings.
ReplyDeleteLove those little birds. Looks like a mom and baby. I'll check out the other blog.
ReplyDeleteHave fun this weekend...didn't enter as all my work is in Penbroke.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great find! These little birds can be used in many paintings. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI've listened to Leslie's radio program and it is great! Lots of good info. :-)
Wonderful painting...I absolutely love birds.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the perfect day...painting and antiquing!
Wow, Kelley, I haven't been by in a few days and I've missed a lot! I absolutely LOVE the birds, and my first thought when i saw the painting of the house was.."what an ingenious concept to add "noise" to the piece with splatters and spots!" I love the effect!! I wouldn't wipe it off at all. And Sue's Shed is perfect. Lovely work Kelley, just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLovely painting. I love birds! And thanks for the plug for the radio show. It's a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteOh sweet, Kelley! Amazing what little birds can do to a person, especially when looking at a painting like this!Thank you for the chats on Facebook, I love hearing from you!
ReplyDeleteOh, now we're talking - forget art - the antique stores in Warren are great - is the one that sells all the lamps and mid century modern furniture still there? On Water Street maybe? Does that sound right?
ReplyDeleteBut I digress, I love this bird painting, it's got great colors!
