I literally 'stalked' this older couple (they're at LEAST ten years older than me, so, yeah, 'older').. walking behind them taking shots inconspicuously with my camera. This is a lovely section of the beach I used to go to where the beach curves out to a pennisula. I loved how sassy she was and of course, his Rhode Island uniform of black high socks and shoes at the beach.... :)
How wonderful! You captured the gesture perfectly...very nice painting .
ReplyDeleteKelley, this is charming! My Dad wears that to the beach (oh, minus the shorts. Never shorts!)
ReplyDeleteLove this Kelley- there is so much narrative in their gestures!
ReplyDeleteI think you can paint anything!
Very nice. You really captured the body language.
ReplyDeletelove it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great painting, Kelley. No words needed.
ReplyDeleteLove what you captured! Its precious...
ReplyDeleteLoved the subject matter and I like the shadows you did in the sand. The whole black sock idea cracks me up.
ReplyDeleteWow this is so engaging. The beach, the couple. the simple horizon and soft sky. Love it all. Wish I could see it in person!
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile Kelley...the painting and your story. I know so well the "stalking" that goes on to get a good reference photo...I think the CIA wants you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet painting! I am sure this couple would love to have your painting! Actually any long time together couple would love this, it's a reminder, "come grow old with me, the best is yet to be".
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet; it always makes me smile to see older couples walking hand-in-hand anywhere. You captured that essence in your painting.
ReplyDeleteI love that this is a larger painting showing a sweet couple living large the right way. I love it when men could care less what they look like with their dark socks and shorts, especially on the beach. This tells a great story about people and how they live life, your beautiful painting style is perfect here. I'm thrilled to hear that I am not the only "camera stalker" out there.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful, Kelley - I love it. Very sweet.
ReplyDeleteThey look like they are enjoying each other so much. Great job on the figures!
ReplyDeleteThis is so, cute. You captured their personalities perfectly in their posture.
ReplyDeleteAwww, how sweet, Kelley.
ReplyDeleteI particularly like their body language. How one is pulling on the other for support.
Lovely job on this!
