First, let me just say that if you haven't tried Hendrick's Gin.... y'oughta!

This weekend marked the (belated) push for the Little Picture Shows.  I can hardly believe how many I've committed to.  This weekend I did 4 'cocktail' type paintings.  My first thought is to do 3 cocktail and 3 donut paintings for the Providence Art Club Little Picture Show, like last year.

Since taking Carol Marine's Advanced Workshop a couple of weeks ago I'm all excited to do glass and reflective surfaces... so look forward to more!

Also - as a balm to our hectic world, with all our anxieties and conflicts (think politics - and then DON'T think politics...)  I offer to you a recent sunset from my front porch.  Maybe someday I'll get brave enough to tackle them again!

I hope you all had a happy day yesterday (Sunday).  I'm having to pull out all the stops to aim this Bismark all the way to California to land on Susan Roden!  I had to hold a couple of paintings out JUST IN CASE I needed to replace them at the Providence Art Club Holiday Sale, and this was one.  But not that the Sale is over (3 paintings sold - *big grin*) this luscious baby is available!  Ooooh, the light, delectable cream.... ahhh, the sweet strawberry jelly... Mmmmmm... the dusting of powdered sugar - this one just killed me!

Anyway, I think this volley in the Donut War is Shock and Awe time!

On Hold

Here's to you all, all my buddies in Blogland, who support and follow my journey!  Don't you just love the golden color of beer?

I attended the Holiday Brunch today at the Providence Art Club - my first year as a member, and it was just lovely.  And I saw so many people I knew - all dressed up (no paint in the hair, etc) and looking fabulous!  And I found a just-my-style (no contortions) yoga class that I will go to on Monday!  AND I saw fellow bloggers Libby Gilpatric and Jo Ann Elig there, too!  What a day.  I'm just basking.  And baking.  Peanut butter/hershey kiss cookies!!!

This one WILL be about $200 (framed) when it goes on sale at the Art Club's Holiday Sale.  It's my first year participating, and I'm very excited!  I did this one today after class - we did more value studies - I did one good one, one awful one.  I can never do those enough, it's like I learn a lesson with each one!  This wine was a delicious French red, a Chateau Larose Trintadon, a Medoc.  Take my word for it, there SHOULD have been none left!
