The Egg Beater, Oil, 10x10

I love the translucency of Jadite.  This bowl came from Tim's family - an aunt, I believe.  The whisk was my mom's  - she used it all her married life.  I like the colors of the red and the green together, and painting the eggs was fun, too.  Lots of colors in those whites!  This is painted on cradled wood, which I LOVE painting on.  This painting is for a submission next month, and won't be available till after May 30th.

  11. Thanks everyone! This was a painting that really didn't come together till the very last minute! And I'm STILL not 'sure' about the background. But I live by the rule "Do one thing every day that terrifies you!". Jadite. There you go.

  19. Ok, I had to go look again to make sure I said my peace here: It's WONDERFUL!! The jadite glows against the whisk and the composition is clever and holds ones attention. Normally a dark top/backdrop might feel heavy??--but it looks awesome. Really, really nice Kelley. You keep getting better and better.

  20. Yep - I have to chime in too! Kelley - you captured that milky old-fashioned green so well. And the red-handled whisk is the perfect compliment. My Grandma had a lot of that stuff. It brings back memories...

  23. Kelley!

This is so wonderful for many reasons.

The white on white with the eggs on the table. The jadite looks super cool and translucent (it must look amazing in person, huh?). And the red handle of the whisk does indeed go great with the green of the bowl.

    Love this one!
