Another cairn painting - a little one.
At the risk of boring everyone, I would like to say a little about the cairn paintings and why I do them. I was intrigued when I saw my first cairn. I was astounded when I saw them at the vortex in Sedona, about 9 years ago - hundreds of them. And again in Maine. I think each one is like a lesson - of patience to find the right angle of each stone, of gentleness in the placing of the stone atop. Of the joy I find in our differences - I think each stone has a personality and it's color and shape reveal it, I think we must trust when we balance them, and give in to that sense of balance. Very much the way I want to live my life. This one is named Strength because the stones fit very solidly into each other, and support each other. I know people of true strength. I bet you do, too.
Beautiful expression of what you have seen and felt, both in words and in paint. To me there's something eduring and peaceful as well. Nice!
ReplyDeleteBoring..no way. Now I have to read about the vortex in Sedona and Maine.Living in balance and having strength to support each other..lovely Kelley.

ReplyDeleteI love your cairn paintings, Kelley! I've always had a soft spot (so to speak) for cairns and things like them. Such fun to paint!
ReplyDeleteNeat post Kelley, no not boring. I like the green background and blue you used in the shadow-good choices girlfriend.
ReplyDeleteI saw a cairn in of all places, Milton, while I was stuck in traffic. You're right, the immediate effect was one of calming...and I thought of your paintings.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting. Wonderful story to tell us how special these Cairns are and that they can teach a lesson. Love what you wrote you feel the lesson to be- special indeed Kelley.
ReplyDeleteHey Kelley, kind of strange but I got an email from you today but it had no painting , just a paragraph titled "Primary Heading" and then it was all in latin.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I went to your blog and I love the "Strength" painting and I really like what you wrote about cairns.
Lovin' your words...lovin' today's painting.
