This silver bowl was a great lesson on reflective surfaces. I put it together to paint as a demo for my class last week, then I thought "Holy Cow, I haven't painted a shiny silver surface in, like, a YEAR - why am I doing a DEMO with one?" Something like this really puts you through the paces, which is a good thing. And the ribbon was just fun, and gave a nice reflection inside the bowl. I just have to say... I have such a GREAT group of artists in my class... I'm so grateful for their enthusiasm and focus!
Love the reflections in this one, Kelley! Really beautiful color palette, too.
ReplyDeleteHi Kelley-fun to see how you handled the silver bowl.
ReplyDeleteThis is something I haven't tried yet but you have inspired me to attempt it. Great job and I love the ribbon in it.
Challenging subject matter kelley and well done...wish I was in your class
ReplyDeletesuper job Kelley- what a challenge!
ReplyDeleteKelley- Wonderful painting and of course you were up for the challenge:) Love all the reflections and it reads so well as metal. Wonderful touch to add the bright red ribbon for pop and fun. I said it before but lucky students to have you!
ReplyDeleteGreat subject matter, great little painting. If I were one of your students I would have wanted to strangle you. A metal bowl with a ribbon, could you thought of something harder? :) You do have great students because you are still with here to post about it.
ReplyDeleteI love how you push yourself with your students, not just falling back on the tried and true! You got this one beautifully Kelley.
ReplyDeletewhat a challenge...you pulled it off..love the color combo.
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous--I love it. Wish I could take a class from you.
