This is a little chickadee landing in the snow - I've had a photo of this for a long time, and this time of year there's so much whiteness and gray... Here when I look out the sky and the water are all gray, but the little birds are so cheerful (to me, anyway). I loved al the colors in the 'white' background. I used a palette knife, and then got involved with the whirling of the snow and wind. I don't usually use the knife, but I liked the calligraphy of the whorls.
Exquisite Kelley! (So good I'll forgive you for not posting a cupcake.) Love the effect of the palette knife.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I like the flutter and flurry of wings against the white snow. I'm partial to chickadees too!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Kelley! I love the energy in this ... a fleeting moment captured in paint ... I can almost hear the flutter of little wings! The neutral colors really complement the calligraphic knife strokes ... I like this one very much!
ReplyDeleteYou were so right to use the knife. You're little painting is just filled with fluttering graceful movement.
ReplyDeleteFor me, little wrens always make me smile. Like chickadees, they are so small and brave. Who couldn't find such creatures irresistable!
