Can you guess where this is? Guess and I'll tell you tomorrow. I always felt so bad for these horses in the heat, then when I walked around the block I saw two horses with their muzzles down in a low fountain. OK, if they get a good drink between rides. Otherwise, I'm thinking "Black Beauty" - which I must have read 4 times as a kid!
Looks like it might be Philadelphia. That's where I took my Hansom Cab ride many years ago. Passed by the Liberty Bell, too.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great composition and I like the way the touches of orange stand on the horse stand out against the cool blues of the painting. Lovely painting.
ReplyDeleteA complicated piece nicely done. Not sure where it is maybe Providence.
ReplyDeleteNice composition and the drivers glance to his right is so cool...!
ReplyDeleteI really love this, Kelley!!
ReplyDeleteI love this piece Kelley! Your handling of the horse and rider together is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing New York.
This is sure a departure from your doughnuts! Love the loose brush strokes and subject matter where ever it is.
ReplyDeleteSo very special! Love the touches of pink and white on the trunks on the carriage - looks like a wedding is about to commence. Or do I just have a wild imagination?
ReplyDeleteMy guess is Franklin St, Boston . . . or maybe somewhere in Quebec.
ReplyDeleteThis is really nice!
ReplyDeleteKelley, beautiful, as always! I'm guessing Charleston, Quebec city, or maybe NYC? I'll stay tuned!
ReplyDeleteyou did all this in 6x6? wow!
ReplyDeleteLove this composition! The blues throughout are so unifying and the light on the horse and carriage is crisp and eye catching. I really like the way you painted nice indications of features but left it loose.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful! You should do more cities!
