Woooo! Can you say 'glare'? This, I guess, is a particularly *sparkly* painting. Also I waited a little beyond the prime time to photograph it. Enough, no excuses! I found this cup and saucer at a local antique store - I just love 'lusterware'! It's so reflective, too. This is Green Tea with Peach. Verrry comforting, and healthy, too! One interesting thing about this painting - I kept seeing very pink reflections on it and couldn't figure out why (on the handle, on the outside of the cup) till I was done, and then I saw that I was facing a big canvas that I'd primed with magenta!
Kelley I love it!! My Grandma still has lusterware, made me feel like I was at her house:) Great job:)
ReplyDeleteKelley, Wonderful job on the "lusterware" Colors are so rich and the values are right on:) I like that shadow under the saucer!
ReplyDeleteLove the "lusterware" cup. Fond memories of my aunt's collection except we weren't allowed to drink out of them. Enjoy your tea while I enjoy the painting.
ReplyDeleteLove this! I like the pink reflections, too, no matter where they came from!
ReplyDeleteI thought you were wearing your pink sweatshirt!
ReplyDeleteLove this Kelley- a perfect thing to see after a snowstorm!
Beautiful painting, Ms. Kelley! The title is perfect too! I noticed that your tea bag is one of those round ones. Got to go look for some of those to paint for a change ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, funny, but the magenta works. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteYou are good with the different surfaces, but I also find some sense of humor in your food pictures. They are so much about comfort and enjoying the little things in life! Thank you for verifying my French Belles blog on Fb!
